St Austell borrowed 2 players for their first game against Bodmin 2; both teams were evenly matched and although Saints passed well, using the width and driving the ball forward, they were unable to find the back of the goal to get the win. The match ended in a 0-0 draw.
The second match saw Saints play against Newquay 2. With only 10 players against the oppositions 11 for the majority of the match, the Ladies battled hard from the outset. They made some good passes, moving the ball around to use the width of the pitch. However, Newquay were strong and pressed hard; despite the defence making some great clearances, Newquay managed to score. A loss for Saints this time but their spirit stayed til the final whistle.
The penultimate match saw the Saints play Caradon 2. The Ladies made some good passes, driving the ball up the pitch towards Caradon's defence, but were unable to get through into the D and get a shot on goal. The opposition came on the counter attack annd although the Saints made some good interceptions and the defence held strong to make some solid clearances, Caradon managed to score a goal and make the score at full time 1-0. A loss this time for Saints but a close game.
The final match was against Falmouth 2; the Ladies were back to a full squad with 10 Saints players plus 1 from Newquay. Both teams passed the ball well, using the full width of the pitch. Saints made some great passes and went on the attack a number of times. They were awarded a short corner, which saw the ball slipped back to Yas Barrott, who then slotted it past the defender and keeper to make the scoreline 1-0. The Saints continued to play hard for the remainder of the game, stopping Falmouth in their tracks to score an equaliser. As the final whistle blew for the end of the match, it was a win for the Ladies.
