Ladies Development Squad Summer Sessions

Under 14's rejoin league!

Sunday 6th October

Today our U14's travelled to Bude for a tournament. This is the first time St Austell have entered into an Under 14 league for many years, which is a credit to our hard working coaches, we are super proud of this achievement!

With the rain pouring down the first opponents were Bude Moons. St Austell's inexperienced team at this level worked hard with the team defending well and ended up losing 3 - 0.

Next up were Bude Stars. St Austell kept them out for a large part of the game, but 3 quick goals late on meant another 3-0 loss.

After a games break, the next opponents were Falmouth. This was a tight game with both teams having opportunities to score but very late on Falmouth got the crucial winner. 1-0 to Falmouth.

Fourth game of the day was against Penzance. St Austell took the lead early and after keeping out Penzance for a large amount of time the team managed to grab another goal. Penzance kept up their work rate and got one back, further pressure ensued and eventually Penzance got the equaliser right in the final whistle. 2-2 draw.

Last up came Truro with a very strong team they took a quick early 3-0 lead. St Austell kept them out during the middle of the game but 3 quick late goals meant a 6-0 defeat in their final match.

The St Austell team missing a few of their normal players worked really hard with some great defending and goalkeeping. The midfield also worked well with some good interplay up front when able to against more experienced opposition.

The team can be proud of the effort they put in in such awful conditions!

We look forward to watching the team develop and grow as the season continues

Next week it will be the turn of the U12s at Truro

Juniors set to rejoin the leagues

Sunday 15th October will see our Juniors stepping back into competitive hockey against teams from Penzance, Truro, Falmouth, Caradon, Bodmin & Bude.

They will be showing off new kit in the clubs maroon colours purchased following the successful Tesco blue chip campaign.

It's fantastic to see a full St. Austell team back on the county scene.

🏆PRESENTATION EVENING🏆

On Saturday 2nd April 2022, we will be hosting our annual presentation evening at:

St Austell Cricket Club
Wheal Eliza
St Austell
PL25 3RJ

JUNIORS - 6-7.30pm
SENIORS - 7.30pm onwards

We will be providing food and the cricket club bar will be open for drinks throughout the evening whilst we celebrate a successful season of hockey, for our fantastic club.

Friends and family are welcome.

Blue Token Success!!!!

Following everyone's efforts & tremendous support with the blue tokens we are to receive £1000 from Tesco for the benefit of our Juniors.

These funds will aid & build on the fantastic work by our coaches Jacko & Craig.

Last Training session 2021

Tonight (Monday 6th December) is our last training session of 2021.

Our ladies have a rearranged top of the table clash vs Truro1 on Saturday 11th 1430 at Bodmin Dragon Centre so please support.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the club this year whether it be joining, sponsoring, placing blue tokens, buying raffle tickets, shouting from the sidelines.

We genuinely can't thank you enough & I hope it's proven in both the results competitively & our growing junior section (hopefully competitions next year) that the club is growing stronger together.

We look forward to the new year 1st training session 3rd January for seniors, 10th January for Juniors.
