St Austell 2-4 Plymouth Uni 2's

Saints were in high spirits as they crossed the Tamar Bridge to face Plymouth Uni 2's.
There was a motivated atmosphere in the changing rooms as the team were ready to move on after some disappointing losses.

Trialling a new formation, Saints took a little while to settle in at a new game and during this time Plymouth managed to get a goal under their belts after a lose ball found its way into Saints goal.
Quick to answer this Vicky Jarman was straight up the pitch and firing home a goal, getting Saints straight back in the game.
Plymouth were then back causing problems in Saints D and grabbed another goal.
Saints now got into their own rhythm and found themselves settling into their new positions and after an effective turnover in the centre of the pitch, a long ball to Vicky Jarman allowed her to go past several Plymouth defenders and score another cracking goal, getting back level to 2-2.
Saints responded with two great chances with another strong Jarman strike and Moule laying off the ball to Barrott for a quick strike, but a strong Plymouth keeper made some great saves to deny Saints the opportunity to get Infront.
The first half remained fairly even with Saints doing well in all area's of the field, but eventually after a battle in Saints D, Plymouth won themselves a short corner which they successfully converted shortly before the whistle.

Half time 3-2.

Both sides stepped up in the second half, with the game all to play for. Saints found themselves with plenty of goal scoring opportunities with Tregunna making some great runs up the right and pinging the ball into the D, but Plymouth continued to deny any Saints attacks.
After a quick ball out of the Plymouth defence, they found themselves on the break pushing towards Saints goal and were able to convert a 4th goal.
Plymouth continued to pile on the pressure after getting a comfortable 2 goal lead, but Saints defensive line were able to squash any further chances for the Plymouth side.

Final Score 4-2.
