St Austell Ladies Vs Caradon 3's

Saturday 28th September

Saints headed to Lux Park today for their very first league game of the season.

Saints entered the game with excitement after a good run of pre-season.

Saints started strong and were able to settle in and hold the majority of the possession. In just the 8th minute of the game, Charlotte Jarman was able to put Saints in the lead after a great straight strike from the top of the D.
The Saints continued with some strong play, with vice captain Lucie Oakley organising the team really well. 
Caradon came back and worked their way into the Saints D and were able to bag themselves a short corner, which put them on the scoreboard with a straight strike from the top of the D. 
Shortly before half time Saints were able to work the ball out of the defense and find Vicky Jarman, who flew up the pitch and rocketed a ball into the back of the net giving Saints a 2-1 lead at half time. 

After half time Saints began a little tentatively and Caradon were able to make some threats to the Saints back line. Following some confusion with a decision from the Umpire, Caradon broke and got a 2nd goal, putting them level with the Saints.
Saints were able to turn it around for themselves, settling into the second half, utilising triangles and good communication. Charlotte Jarman was able to receive a square ball in the centre of the pitch, before running it all the way into the Caradon D and firing it home for the Saints.

Final Score 3-2.
