St Austell Ladies Vs University of Plymouth 2

The ladies welcomed Plym Uni to our home ground today. 

We knew it was going to be a tough game with Plym Uni being 2nd in the table however, we didn’t let that have an impact on our performance and took everything we have been practicing in training to the pitch. 

Saints started off strong, meeting the passes, using their triangles and overall dominating the game causing the away team to be frustrated. Before long our persistence paid off where we were awarded a short corner which put Saints 1-0 up. 

Plym uni as expected came out strong but, not strong enough for our well drilled midfield and defence who made amazing tackles throughout the whole game. 

Half time score was 1-0 to Saints. 

The high energy in second half continued with both teams hungry for goals. Saints forwards and mid fields worked hard but unfortunately had two disallowed goals.  

Saints defence worked tirelessly throughout however, Plym uni managed to score an unlucky goal making the score 1-1. 

Saints were unfortunate to not win today with 2 disallowed goals but, they never once dropped their heads and everyone fought to the very end.
