St. Austell U12 boys Vs Various

Today was the final round of U12 Boys League fixtures. The day start with heavy rain but St Austell weren't going to let that stop them. Their first game was against Falmouth Foxes. The team started well with a lot of pressure eventually scoring from a through ball into the D and a great shot passed the keeper. Falmouth came back looking to get on the score sheet but St Austell defended well and kept them out eventually winning 1-0. 

Next game was against Truro. An even game but St Austell took the lead half way through but Truro fought back and equalised late on. 1-1 draw. 

Next opponent was Caradon Tigers. A very tight match with both teams striving for a goal but to no avail though St Austell were unlucky not to score when the ball was adjudged to have gone over the line. 0-0 draw. 

Next up was Penzance Panthers. A very skillful team who passed the ball. St Austell tried to keep them out but conceded early. Further pressure from Penzance resulted in two more goals though St Austell defended really well against a more experienced opponent. 3-0 loss. 

Last game was against Bude who took an early lead but St Austell fought back with a goal played in from the right and tapped in from close range. Bude took the lead again but St Austell equalised late with a ball being played out from defence to the halfway line and a solo run with a shot from top of D passed the Bude keeper. 2-2 draw. 

A really great effort from the team in such awful weather. The best days performance of the league this year. The team have come a long way from their first matches earlier in the season with great improvement by all. They can be very proud of themselves.
