St Austell Ladies Vs Okehampton

The ladies travelled away to Okehampton today to play against their 1st team who this season have come down from the league above. 

The ladies knew it was going to be a tough game with only 11 players but, didn’t let that affect the positivity throughout.

The game started with lots of lovely play from both teams. 

We played some brilliant hockey using what we’ve learnt in training the mid worked well together with some lovely passes and runs from the mid (Yasmin, Laura, Miranda and Beth) onto our forwards (Holly and Maisie) who were applying lots of pressure on the Okehampton’s midfield and defence however, unfortunately it did not pay off. Okehampton were quick at turning it around and took advantage of that putting huge pressure on our defence (Lindsay, Mandy, Debbie). Jacko of course stepped up for the ladies ones again and they are always grateful. She made some cracking saves!

Although, we had some amazing pieces of play unfortunately it was not for us today. Everyone continued to battle until the final whistle it just was not quite enough from us which resulted in the final score being 11-0.
