Match Report |
It took St Austell a few moments to settle into the game, with Caradon holding strong in defence. Once St Austell started to tidy up their play, clean passes were being made across the pitch and putting Caradon on the back foot. Charlotte Jarman managing to make her way through a number of their players and applying the pressure, with the keeper having to make quick responses. Caradon held their play across the middle but struggled to to take it further, with Saints defence not allowing them to breakthrough. As play continued St Austells forwards continued the chase to convert. Charlotte Jarman opened the scoring when she lifted it passed the keeper safely into the back of the net. Movement around the pitch and back on the break, Maisie Moule sailed into the attacking circle, her clean strike cleared the line securing St Austells second. Caradon had their oppotunities, but were denied of creating any major threats. Jacko Sanders clearing away the first shot on goal.
St Austells Mandy Bevins found her self in a 50/50 with Caradons forward, Bevins challenge deemed fair by the umpire, but not the player who vocalised her frustration before being given some time to cool down due to a yellow card.
Half time 2-0.
St Austell continued in the second half as they finished off the first;keeping their heads in the game and the win in their sights. The foward line working well together, moving the ball between each other, Hermione Crowle playing some fantastic balls into Jarman and Garnett Scott carrying the ball well.
St Austell awarded a short corner and play between Yasmin Barrott and Jarman resulted in Jarmans clean strike once more meeting the back board. Barrott creating opportunities throughout the game, pinging the ball out wide or enabling opportunities into Jarman. Kellie Williams, primed on post smashed the ball past the keeper on her reverse stick.
Caradon made their way into the attacking circle and won themselves a short corner. St Austells net safe thanks to Sanders safe hands, with the play disallowed anyway due to it being too high.
Saints response was in the form of super striker Jarman, who punished them when she secured her hat trick
Maisie Moule who had been working hard down the left hand side was next to be watching from the sideline when she saw a green card
The minutes were counting down but St Austell hadn’t finished yet, a rebounded ball in the circle was lifted due to Caradons keeper, a ball blowing in the wind is no match for Williams as she once more smashed it over the line.
Final score 6-0.
Another great team performance for the ladies, a tougher opposition but saints still coming out on top!
