Match Report |
CSM have upped their game since the first time the ladies met where St Austell cleaned up with a 15-0 win. This was noticeable in the first half with St Austell not being able to settle into the game prevented them from converting their attacks, despite a number of short corners, CSM defence were solid. The second half started stronger for Saints as they began to string together clean passes. Within the first 5 minutes Susie James managed to clear it past the CSM keeper, giving Saints the boost that they needed. The ladies heads had picked up and they were gaining momentum in their forward breaks, only moments later they awarded a short corner. S James received Yasmin Barrotts injections and a powerful strike cleared CSMs strong defenders to meet the backboard once more. CSM continued to fight and created opportunities throughout the game. Saints back on the break and again flooding the circle, this time Beth Horwell was in the threatening positions and managed to bag two more St Austell goals in 10 minutes. St Austells goal streak ended early when the game was stopped due to a CSM injury. Final score, 4-0. Team: Roxanne King, Debbie James, Lindsay Allen, Mandy Bevins, Miranda Ball, Lucie Oakley, Laura Tregunna, Yasmin Barrott, Beth Horwell, Susie James, Kellie Williams, Garnett Scott. |
